Denver, CO – Today, Food & Water Action, the political affiliate of Food & Water Watch, endorsed four candidates for Denver City Council. The endorsements were based on a candidate questionnaire and interviews highlighting the organizations priorities including fracking, climate change, public water, and sustainable agriculture. This is the first time Food & Water Action has endorsed candidates for elected office in Colorado.
All of the candidates endorsed by Food & Water Action pledged to support a ban on fracking, continued public control of Denver’s water and sewer system, and refused to accept campaign contributions from the fossil fuel industry.

Food & Water Action Colorado Organizer, Jason Harrison: “We are thrilled to be supporting these four outstanding candidates, and to have more and more leaders willing to stand up to the fossil fuel industry and protect the public from corporate greed. We’ll be engaging our 6,000 Denver supporters to help elect these progressive champions to represent us in City Hall. Every day between now and the election, we’ll be sending texts, making phone calls, and knocking doors to make sure voters know where the candidates stand on important issues.”
