Food & Water Action Endorses Ginny Kerslake for Chester County Commissioner

April 8, 2019

For Immediate Release

Food & Water Action, the political arm of the national advocacy organization Food & Water Watch, is endorsing Ginny Kerslake’s campaign for Chester County Commissioner.

The endorsement is based on Kerslake’s role as a community leader in the fight against the dangerous Mariner East pipelines, which have galvanized a strong grassroots opposition movement among residents along the pipeline route, especially in Chester and Delaware counties.

“Ever since Sunoco contaminated her neighbor’s water two years ago, Ginny has been an inspiring leader in the fight to protect Chester County from this dangerous corporation. This tenacity and commitment will make her a wonderful county commissioner,” said Sam Rubin, the Eastern Pennsylvania Organizer for Food & Water Action. “Ginny Kerslake will unequivocally use the powers and authority of the Commissioner’s office to oppose this dangerous project.”

Food & Water Action has spent the past two years supporting environmental candidates in Chester County who are committed to stopping the Mariner East 2 pipeline. The organization supported winning candidates for township supervisors in Uwchlan and West Goshen Township in 2017. The following year, Food & Water Action was instrumental in Danielle Friel Otten’s successful campaign in the 155th State House District.
