Food & Water Action, the political arm of the national advocacy organization Food & Water Watch, is endorsing Pete Harckham for re-election to the Senate in the 40th District of New York.
Harckham earned the endorsement based on his continued commitment to halting all new fossil fuel infrastructure, including the proposed Danskammer fracked gas expansion, as well as supporting the statewide shift to public ownership of our utilities and protecting publicly-owned water systems from corporate takeover.
“Pete is exactly the leader the Lower Hudson Valley needs right now to tackle the climate crisis and ensure private polluters don’t control our energy policy,” said Food & Water Action organizer Santosh Nandabalan. “At a time when Westchester County has faced Con Edison’s gas moratorium, and we’ve seen the damage from tropical storms and hurricanes, we need a senator in the 40th District who will take the fossil fuel industry head on, fight for public power and win a Green New Deal for New York. We’re proud to stand by Pete in his run for re-election.”
