Ravi Bhalla

Ravi Bhalla is a long-time resident of Hoboken, where he has served as the Mayor for the past 7 years following two terms on the city council. As Mayor, Bhalla led Hoboken to become the first municipality in NJ to sue the Fossil Fuel industry and spearheaded other important climate resiliency initiatives. Bhalla has consistently spoken out against proposals for new fossil fuel projects, including Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission’s dirty gas plant proposed in Newark and the $11 billion proposal to expand the NJ Turnpike in Hudson County.

In the NJ legislature, Bhalla is committed to fighting for climate action and environmental justice and seeks to champion legislation to spur the development of climate-resilient infrastructure statewide.
