Founder and Executive Director

Wenonah Hauter is the founder and executive director of Food & Water Watch and Food & Water Action and serves on the board of each. Wenonah has three decades of experience campaigning and writing on food, water, energy and environmental issues. She has trained and mentored hundreds of organizers and activists across the country and worked at the national, state and local levels to develop policy positions and legislative and field strategies to secure real wins for communities and the environment. Craig Merrilees

Craig Merrilees has worked on diverse campaigns for labor, environmental and human rights organizations during the past four decades. He currently serves as Communications Director for the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU). Read more.

Adolph Reed

Adolph Reed, Jr. recently retired after four decades as a political science professor. He has held faculty appointments at Howard, Yale, and Northwestern universities, the University of Illinois at Chicago, the New School for Social Research, and, since 2004, at the University of Pennsylvania. He is author of four scholarly and popular books and editor of three others and is currently completing a book on the Decline and Transformation of the Left in the United States since the end of the Second World War.
