Food & Water Action Endorses Sarahana Shrestha for New York State Assembly District 103
Published February 1, 2024
Food & Water Action, the political arm of the national advocacy organization Food & Water Watch, has endorsed Sarahana Shrestha in the race for Assembly District 103, covering portions of Ulster and Dutchess Counties.
Sarahana won the endorsement based on her firm commitment to clean water, climate action, and a just clean energy transition. Since taking office last year, Sarahana has championed the successful passage of the Save the Hudson Bill, Build Public Renewables Act, and the All-Electric Buildings Act. Sarahana is also a co-sponsor of the NY HEAT Act, key portions of which were included in Governor Hochul’s budget proposal.
Food & Water Action Organizer Emily Skydel issued the following statement:
“From keeping fracked gas plants out of our communities to stopping radioactive waste dumps into the Hudson River and fighting to make public power a reality statewide, Sarahana has repeatedly proven herself an environmental champion. Sarahana is the climate leader the Hudson Valley needs; we are proud to endorse Sarahana and look forward to continuing the work we’ve begun together.”
